Sunday's for me are all about chilling and ending the week with food (and lots of it). It's been a tough old week for me in terms of blogging. Full of negativity and the sudden thought of not really know where I am going so I needed to close my laptop all weekend and breathe. Obviously, there was going to be some sort of food involved. Food solves everything, right?
Yesterday, I headed out for a little wander into London with my mum. The weather was super nice and I think it's finally time to dig out those summer dresses because boyyyyy; I was SERIOUSLY cooking in my dungarees!
We both really fancied a traditional Sunday roast and came across a nice little pub called The Fellow on the corner of York Way (it's a road) in Kings Cross - which happens to be only a one minute walk from the station. It's not much to look at from the outside (the interior inside is nice though) but we saw they did Sunday roasts so decided to give it a whirl!
Firstly, the service was really, really good. We both wanted a glass of rosé but I only like sweet tasting wine so I didn't know what one to order. The waitress let us try each one and we ended up ordering a really nice one as a spritzer with lemonade. Our lunches arrived and I can't even put into words how good it was. Absolutely incredible. The chicken (they also do lamb or rib roast) was in a cheesy breadcrumb sauce which was delicious. The carrots were glazed in honey and the yorkshire puddings were bigger than my face! SO good!
Not being able to say no (it's my weakness), we was handed the dessert menu which had a limited choice of only three desserts but it only took me around 1.2 seconds to be completely and utterly sold on the salted caramel cheesecake with strawberry sauce. Incredible.
My mum chose the pecan pie which she said was just as good and I have to say looked really appealing. (She took this picture which I absolutely hate but my mother is slooooowly learning what is good and bad blog photography, haha!)
I fully recommend The Fellow if you're around the area and want somewhere to eat in a really chilled out environment. It's a great place for afterwork drinks, weekend lunch or mid week work meetings.
Can I just re-eat all of the above, please?
