Well ladies and gentleman, the cheesiest day of the year is on the horizon and there's no ignoring it. From every woman ever scrambling to look for their sizes in the Primark lingerie section; to the sea of red cards and teddy bears aligned mismatched on supermarket shelves. Not forgetting the demand for pink champagne and perfectly wrapped in red tin foil chocolates. Valentine's Day is approaching.
In all honesty, I haven't done anything for Valentine's in years, so it will be nice to actually make an effort this year for once. I know I know, I still haven't introduced my boyfriend have I? If you follow me on Instagram though (cheeky plug, hiya), then you will already know!
I thought it would be a nice idea to put together a gift guide with a collection of the perfect gifts for both him and her. It's certainly been helpful to me because I'm also new to the whole Valentine's shenanigans!
You can't really go wrong with a grooming product and as I am a big fan of Panasonic, they're a fantastic brand that have a wide range of different products that are perfect for the hunk who rocks your boat. From technology products for music and TV; or you could treat him to a Men's Trimmer, so he can keep his appearance in top check in the comfort of his own home. They were even voted as part of the top 8 best beard trimmers by The Independent!
Lingerie is the easiest gift you could get for Valentines's Day. Is it for her? Oh, but it could also be for him? Screw that. If you're anti-Valentine's like I have been for so many years, forget men and treat yourself to something sexy to sleep in. Whether you're single, taken or somewhere in-between; you deserve to feel like a million dollars, baby!
Maybe she would prefer something that covers her up a little more. Or maybe you're looking for something that's a little more wearable. If so, the Pour Moi Chemise from UKLingerie is a silk night-dress with suggestive lace panels across the breasts and ribs. Serve breakfast in bed to her this Valentine's Day and maybe she will reveal this little silk number under the sheets.
You may remember my collaboration last year with Bouji Lingerie, so I am not lying when I say they really are the best. Offering sexy but classy lingerie, Bouji have a whole Valentine's section for you to get your teeth into (wait, what??). This gorgeous velvet and mesh plunge bodysuit from Mapale is the perfect option for all and is only £32. It nips her in to enhance her beautiful curves and cheekily shows off the back with a see through mesh material.
Finally, if you would prefer an actual everyday wearable lingerie, then you may want to check out the Freya Fancies collections. Choose from a wide range of different bra and knicker styles in a few different colours. I have the black set with the longline bra and thong and can honestly say it's the comfiest set I own!
Sex toys can be quite scary for a first time user/buyer, so starting off subtle and easy is the perfect way to dip your toes into the world of bedroom toys. Sent to Thrill is a brilliant sex toy brand that are all about embracing your sexuality and sexual wellness. They specialise in pelvic floor toys that can help to increase the strength in your pelvis - a god send if you're familiar with aches and pains during sex.
If that's not a problem for her, then you may want to consider the Felix Vibrator amongst the other sex toys in the range. It looks a little weird... almost like a rabbit with two ears, but it's one of the most breathtaking things you could buy her this year. I am absolutely NOT pardoning that pun. Priced at £49 and available in pink or purple, the Felix fits perfectly on either side of the clitoris and features 7 different vibration patterns. She will LOVE it.
If she's familiar with toys, then you may want to turn things up a notch and treat her to the Ooh La La Flower Vibrator from So Divine. Priced at £34.99, this sex toy really is something special. The delicate flower shape sculpture provides an extra pleasure of a special kind, which can be enjoyed up to 2 hours before a re-charge is required. It features 10 different vibration modes - including 3 speeds and 7 pulsating patterns. What will be her favourite combination? Only one way to find out...
Let's face it head on. (erm) Condom shopping has always and still has a massive stigma around it. A simple little thing that can prevent STI's and unwanted pregnancies is all of a sudden something we pray and hope there's a self-checkout for... or even better, just order it online.
Condoms are pretty basic; normal, flavoured or ribbed? What's your flava baby? Personally, I think the choices are pretty limited which is why myONE are a perfect brand if you're on the hunt for some new rubbers.
With a staggering 60 different sizes for 10 different lengths AND 9 widths; there really is something for everyone. Whether he's thin, limp, pulsing, stumpy or resembles a donkey dick deep down in the planet called PANTS; there is definitely the perfect condom for him. Luckily, if he doesn't know his size, there's a handy measurement tool and questionnaire he can use on the site! There's also different lubes available too that are available from Superdrug for £9.99.
... And if it's her you're shopping for, then you might want to pick up Ted Baker Sweet Treats (30ml £18 or 100ml £30). Ella, Mia and inspired by Ted Baker's must-have fashion collections, Sweet Treats have 3 in the collection, all of which are designed for girls that like their scents with plenty of personality. The perfect handbag friend! Ted Baker fragrances are available in-store or from Boots.
If you really want to see her smile and pucker up ready for snogs galore, then you may want to consider popping into Superdrug or Boots and picking up the Sleek MakeUP Matte Me Lip Creams. Priced at £4.99 each and with a wide colour range; you're guaranteed to pick a shade that she will wear. PERFECT for date night! Available from Boots and Superdrug.
We all know I am a huge fan of lashes and admittedly wear them everyday. So, lashes are a wonderful gift for any girl who is just like me. KISS lashes happen to be some of my favourites out of there; some of which I re-purchase again and again. KISS also have a wide range of different false nails, but you really can't go wrong with a perfect mani! Available from Boots and Superdrug.
If you want to treat her to a huge variety of different lashes and order them online, you might want to have a browse of FalseEyelashes.co.uk. They have over 1,000 different styles from many different brands, so it's great for me to stock up on some of my favourites!
If you're struggling for ideas on what to get him, then don't worry because I've been panicking too. Whilst it's super easy to get lingerie and chocolate for girls, I don't think most men would appreciate those.
Dobell is a fantastic men's brand for the man who likes to look smart and sharp. One particular favourite pick of mine are the Merino Wool jumpers. They're pretty simple but perfect for someone who just needs a little bit of a wardrobe update. With a polo collar and long sleeves; the jumpers are made using 100% wool, so feel ridiculously soft and wash up really well. For £34.99, would he prefer charcoal grey or blue? Ricky chose grey!
There we have it! What ever you choose, I am sure he or she will love it. If you don't celebrate Valentine's Day or don't have anyone to buy for, then that's totally fine too!

Sex Toys...
For the couples that are a little cheeky and daring in the bedroom (or wherever your urges persist, I ain't judging); you may want to consider adding a sex toy to the bedroom... or even to your ever growing collection already. Personally, I think intimacy between a couple is a huge make or break in a relationship. So, if there's a chance to turn things up from hot to spicy, then why not?Sex toys can be quite scary for a first time user/buyer, so starting off subtle and easy is the perfect way to dip your toes into the world of bedroom toys. Ted Baker have pulled it out of the bag again and have some gorgeous fragrances for both him and her. The Ted Baker tonics combine a fascination for the alchemy of aroma with the world's most sought after elements. You really cannot go wrong with splurging on some jewellery for her. I myself am not really a jewellery wearer, but I do like treating myself to some new earrings from time to time. The Fine Jewellery Company stock a wide range of jewellery that is of a high quality and made using the finest materials. Priced at £125, these gorgeous 9ct gold and white gold twisted hoops are the perfect option if you can't choose between gold or silver for her. Or maybe she would prefer a necklace? I am now ticking 25-34 boxes, about to book my first smear test and I can now apparently legally drink in Delhi, if I am to ever visit that is. Whilst I can't yet drive, have not moved out of my family home and am only just starting to save money; I feel the past 8 days I have gone from being a girl to an adult.
I've been doing that thing lately where you sit there in your pit, braless, hair up with a box of Cadbury's chocolate fingers next to you; wondering why your life doesn't look like every 25 year olds' that you follow on Instagram. I legit sat here this other day and watched people sharing life goals they have recently achieved; moving out and buying a new car to name a few. I can't help but compare, as I force another chocolate finger into my mouth; knowing full well that's yet another 31 calories I've just swallowed in three seconds. Who cares though? Pass me another.
I'd like to make the 25th year of my life an amazing one. So, I've put together a goals list for the year and am going to try my best to try and cross as many off as I can before the end of the year and before I approach my 26th birthday. Eeeeek!
1) Pass driving test and buy my first car
I've touched lightly before on why I stopped learning to drive, but I feel like it's now time for to get back on the roads. It's incredibly frustrating having everyone in my life with their own car and me having to get taxi's and trains from A to B. Thankfully, I haven't forgotten how to drive, so I am hoping to pass both my theory and driving tests by the end of this year.
coat: pretty little thing* - available HERE
tracksuit: megan mckenna x miss pap - available HERE
trainers: adidas tubulars
I did want to try Veganuary, but a steak was calling my name on my birthday meal. The idea of going vegetarian or vegan is quite scary because well, I bloody love cheeseburgers. However, I know I can easily stick to something new if I try it short term and see how I go with the intention of making it a permanent thing. This way of thinking works better for me, rather than throwing myself in the deep end and going completely cold turkey. Pardon the pun... wait, no that pun doesn't work.
3) Try something that scares me
I hate anything that involves adrenaline, so don't have as much fun as the average person probably has. I'm not a big fan of ice skating because my balance is terrible. I have a phobia of water parks and I don't like upside down rides and rollercoasters at theme parks. This year however, I want to push myself and do something that terrifies me.
4) Visit 12 new places - UK or abroad
I realised the other day that I've never been to any UK cities; apart from living in London my whole life. Last year, I wanted to travel a lot more but I only ended up going to Croatia. Therefore, I am setting myself a goal of visiting 12 new places this year. It sounds like a lot, but that's only one trip per month!
5) Open a savings account and save a set amount of ££ per month
The true sign of peaking adult hood. I don't know if it's bad, embarassing or both that I don't have a savings account. However, everything I want in life is going to require money and lots of it, so it's time to save. I have already started to put money away for my pension in the future, but I am aiming to also transfer money into a new savings account every month.
6) Give blood
I really wanted to give blood last year, but getting three tattoos during 2017 meant I was unable to give blood. It would be nice to give something back; especially as I don't need ALL of the blood in me!
7) Eventually use only cruelty free products
Whilst I am fully against wearing real fur and mink lashes, I am also admittedly not completely cruelty free. I do have makeup and beauty products from big brands that unfortunately do test their products out on animals. I have been very conscious of this over the last few months and tend to hesitate when reaching for foundations and lipsticks that I know don't have the greatest ethics behind them. Again like the vegan thing, I could do this over a short amount of time and would find it a whole lot easier to become a permanent thing.
8) Worry less and be happy
I worry about everything and it's caused so much havoc in the past. Whilst I am not completely happy with my life right now, I am also in control of it. I am a big believer in negative thoughts bringing on negativity in every aspect of your life. Therefore, I am trying to forget about things that are out of my control and stay out of other people's messy lives. I have so much to look forward to in life; moving out, starting a family etc and I cannot do this until I care less about negativity around me and live and breathe all of the positive vibes. Send them my way, babe.
I'll tune back in a year's time to see how many I've crossed off... if any! I haven't had the chance to say it yet, but Happy New Year to you all. I am well aware that my blog has slacked over the last few months, but I have been so super busy with life; a new job and a new relationship (if you know, you KNOW). Hoping to get back on track soon and produce content that's better than ever. Shoutout to the best boyfriend ever for shooting these photos for me. Not bad for a first time camera user, huh? :)
Speak soon my lovelies! Ashleigh x
