Coloristiq - Nail Polish Rental Service

11/03/2015

Yes, you read the title correctly! - An online service which allows you to rent nail polishes from a wide range of different brands. When Coloristiq got in touch to ask me if I would like to try out their service, a part of me wanted to say 'no, that's weird', but on the other spectrum of things; it's actually a really good idea. Let me explain...

Painting my nails is probably the biggest beauty chore I can think of. I love the look of freshly painted nails but I really hate painting them, waiting for them to dry and then ruining them by trying to put a pair of bed socks on or re-adjusting that pair of annoying skinny jeans that always need pulling up. Just me??

Think of Coloristiq as a subscription box. You pay £14.49 inc. p&p (per month) and you receive three nail polishes from brands such as: China Glaze, OPI, Essie and Morgan Taylor. You are then free to enjoy using them for a period of 30 days allowing roughly three applications per bottle.

I didn't get to choose the colours I received but I was sent three shades from China Glaze. I've never tried out any China Glaze polishes but they did apply like a dream and only needed one coat. Always a bonus!

China Glaze Polishes:
'Stop That Train!' *
'What Are You A-Freight Of?' *
'Don't Get Derailed' *
It's a 'tad strange to think the bottles you receive have been previously used by someone but if you ignore that fact and remember that this unique service allows you to try out nail polishes from high end brands, it makes a little more sense to sign up.

Oh, and even better, you return them free of charge!

BUT,  even better than that? All Being Ashleigh readers can have a free month on me! Just email the team at Coloristiq on info@coloristiq.com and give them the code: ASHLEIGHD1. Once you purchase your first month's box, they will refund you your money :) You're welcome!

  1. I think I'm with your original thought of that's weird. Isn't it a tad unhygienic to be sharing a product that people use on their hands? What if they don't wash their hands after going to the toilet? I'd rather spend the money on one new high end polish I think!

    1. I guess it has its advantages and disadvantages. If you have the money to splurge to try new colours then that's great but some people don't. However, personally I would use this service to 'swatch' a colour and see how it looks. If I like it, I'll buy it.
