ESQUARED - THE NO CONTRACT GYM AND FITNESS CLASSES

16/09/2018

Gym contracts scare me, a lot. I've been lucky that the gym I left before moving house, was a cancel any time kinda contract and that suited me much better. It has meant I've been able to cancel my contract as I no longer live nearby and am able to look at other gyms in my new area.

The gym I used to go to was great but there was a few facilities it didn't have that I really would have liked to have tried. A swimming pool would have been amazing for days where I didn't feel like pushing my quads on a leg press machine. I also really wanted to try boxing to keep fit and tone my upper body, but another thing that m previous gym didn't offer in the classes it provided.

That's where the Esquared fitness app comes right in handy. Available for free download on Google Play and ios, Esquared searches for pay as you go local gyms, sports centres and fitness events. Sadly, it hasn't arrived at any centres near my new house just yet, but it has meant that I can book London based swimming sessions and fitness classes to go to after work.

The app is incredibly easy to use and has been stress free whilst using it. You start by either selecting all or choosing a few things you are keen on looking for i.e swimming sessions, boxercise, yoga etc.

It then works using your current location. It presents you with a map of where you currently are, or you can search for an area you will be visiting in the near future.

Dotted around the map, you will see black squares with prices which means there is some form of gym or fitness classes in that area available to book with. You simply select the individual black square and it presents all of the information you need to know.

For example, there are 22 spaces left in a Yoga class at 5.30PM today, lasting 1 hour for just £10. Perfect.

Esquared is a fairly new app and I can see it being a rather popular one in the fitness world. It gives the opportunities to find fitness classes or centres that allow quick pay as you go visits, rather than being tied down to a 24 month contract that causes many problems if you need to cancel it. I'm all for it!

  1. You had me at no contracts, my recent gym has quite hard cancellation terms. I loved the sound of this.

  2. This is a great idea... I have had many gym memberships but then not attended across the year.

  3. This is such a good idea especially for people who don't have the time or funds to commit to an actual gym membership! x

  4. What a fabulous app, I totally need to download this now as I think I would be more motivated to go to the gym if I had this

  5. Sounds like a good app, although I had no idea that some gyms were contract only. We just walk into ours and pay for what we use.

  6. This sounds like a great app. I want to join a gym or fitness classes but don't want to be tied into an expensive contract as I can't always guarantee when I will be able to go because of the kids.

  8. Sounds like a brilliant idea! Its been ages since I've been to the gym and even my husband was thinking of starting, so I'll pass this on to him!

  9. I think Esquared is a good idea. I like the idea of a pay-as-you-go gym. I want to join a gym and go to fitness classes but I really don't want to commit to a contract.
