5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW WHEN GOING TO MAGALUF

16/03/2017

Holiday season is fast approaching, even though it seems like Summer is already here. Anyone else absolutely loving this sunny weather that March is bringing to the table?!

I am already in the midst of putting together and finalising my travel plans for Summer 2017. However, no girly holidays will be occurring like they did last year.

Last year saw us heading over to Magaluf for a week, for a post-break-up-he-never-deserved-me-anyway type of holiday. You may remember my blog post on it back in September last year, but I never quite got around to putting together this post thereafter or the after movie!

That was my first (and probably last) girls only holiday and I have so many thoughts on Magaluf as a holiday destination.

1) The barman is only flirting so you buy extra drinks
We was always pulled into a bar opposite our hotel by its barman called Callum. Don't get me wrong, he was a very nice guy but he dropped some over-flirtacious comments. It was quite obvious that these barmen are like this so that you end up spending all your night's money in his lonely bar.

2) The boys are gross
I had just broke up with someone, so I was out in Magaluf to have a good time. However, I didn't speak to anyone because 99.9% of the guys out there are absolutely gross. You definitely will not find your Prince Charming in Magaluf (and if you have then by all means, a pat on the back to you!). All you have to do is smile back at a guy and they think that's an invitation to down under.

3) Don't pack heels in your suitcase
Literally no girls go out onto the Magaluf strip wearing heels. Even though we all took a pair or two, we ended up dancing on sticky floors in sandals and flip flops. Everyone does... it's like heels are a non-existent thing in Magaluf.

4) Learn to say no
We had a lot of club PR's and reps coming up to us and trying to get us into their clubs/bars or buy tickets to events during the week. We ended up getting talked into buying tickets to a huge event at the biggest club, BCM. It's important to note that these people all get paid commission on how many girls and guys they can get into places, so don't be afraid to say no ta.

5) You can't relax around the pools
Our hotel was a popular hotel for 18-35's, so it was near impossible to do any relaxing during the day. Don't get me wrong, I loved the loud house music and the non-stop cocktails; but I didn't like being hit by footballs every 2 minutes. It all comes down to the guys being gross... of course.

There we have it! 5 things every person should know before visiting Magaluf. It's a great holiday for a cheap and cheerful time and you're guaranteed to get a tan if visiting in August!

  1. I went to Magaluf a few years back and I totally agree with all these points. These kinds of holidays are not relaxing in the same way other summer holidays are. I actually really enjoyed BCM but I know what you mean about yucky boys there x

  4. This does not sound like a relaxing holiday whatsoever, but then again when you go for a girls holiday you are not necessarily looking for relaxation. People headed to Magaluf will be grateful to hear this tips!

  15. My mummy went to Magaluf in the 90's and had fun dancing the night away in BCM and Banana Joes. Totally right about the men/boys! Thankfully she wasn't on the pull!

  16. Honestly I never thought to visit there but having read your post I'm not so sure it would be any good as a family holiday. I will look for somewhere a little more adult friendly without the gross men ;-)
