PURPLE HAIR WITH OSMO COLOUR PSYCHO HAIR DYE

OSMO sent over some hair dyes to me a long time ago but I never ended up using them because I had no plans to go purple... until now. 

I've had so many requests on social media and questions asking what hair dye I've used so even though it's now washed out and faded into a minty blue colour; I thought I would still put this post together for any girls wanting to go purple!

I'll definitely say I had no plans to go purple but a boring Sunday at home with no plans led to an impromptu hair change in the bathroom. 

For all my crazy hair colours, I have used the likes of Bleach London, Crazy Colour and Directions dyes. I was a little bit apphrensive using a completely different brand but I have used some other OSMO products in the past which I have really liked.

Wild Violet is a blue based purple semi-permanent hair dye. It doesn't state how many washes it lasts for but I found it lasts around 3-5 washes before it needs a top-up. You get 150ml of product which is a crazy amount especially as to achieve the shade of purple I wanted; I diluted two pea-size amounts of the dye in a bowl with a normal conditioner. The colour was lighter than a deep purple but darker than a pastel shade. I left this on for 15 minutes (as my hair was white beforehand so it didn't need too long) and rinsed my hair thoroughly. 

The first time I used it was on silver-grey hair so it went quite bright and washed out to a grey based lilac. However, upon the second application a few days later; I found it started washing out to a light icy blue colour which I am learning to like. However, I did dye my hair an icy blue a few months ago and found it very stubborn to remove so I'm in the transition of trying to get back to my original silver-grey shade. 

I would definitely say it is semi-permament as it only lasted a few washes before needing another application. However, as with all blue and purple based dyes; you should expect stubborn staining and be prepared for the aftermath of trying to go back to a pure blonde shade.

Are they worth it?

I would probably re-use them again in the future, yes. I like how the product can be diluted down to make a shade that suits my requirements. If I had used this without the diluting method; my hair would be a very, very dark purple colour which isn't something I would have wanted.
