PURE BEAUTY DERMALOGICA SKINCARE WISHLIST

03/08/2016

Skin care is one of the most important things in my beauty regime. I remove my makeup every single night before bed, I drink lots of water and I’ve even started using eye serums which I’ll thank my past self for when I’m in my 40’s.

Dermalogica is a brand I am familiar with as I have used their products over the years. It started when I received some samples in a goody bag at an event and then I found myself purchasing full size products from DutyFree at the airport.

Spending three week’s in the sun is no good for anyone’s hair or skin; let alone a super pale gal like me with bleached hair. I have returned home with dry hair, dehydrated skin and even my nails are breaking. Not good, I know.

So, I’ve put together a little wish list of Dermalogica products that I am hoping to purchase once pay day gets here. They are all available exclusively at Purebeauty.co.uk which offer you a discount off the RRP price!

1. Charcoal Rescue Masque - 75ml
RRP £38 & Pure Beauty £34.50

Charcoal masques are the saviour of all skin products on the market. They are great for blemish prone skin and skin that is oily. However, charcoal masques work wonders on skin that is dehydrated such as mine.

The masque itself is a thick, dark grey-almost black creamy consistency and can be applied thinly to save on product. It works by absorbing the natural oils in your skin which if left can lead to blackheads, spots and under the skin bumps. Not something we want, are they? Charcoal masques leave you skin feeling replenished, hydrated and youthful.

2. Multi-Active Toner - 250ml
RRP £27.30 & Pure Beauty £24.50

Toners are something I always used to use but stopped using a few months ago because my skin was getting really sensitive. However, toners are great at removing traces of makeup and impurities from the skin that a makeup remover or face wipes (although - no one recommends face wipes) cannot withdraw from the skin.

I have seen a significant difference in not using a toner and using one which is why I have decided to add one to my wish list.

I have chosen this toner in particular because it’s suitable for all skin types. There is no point in featuring products on my blog for maturer skin or teenage acne prone skin for example; because these products are not applicable for everyone.

The ingredients include aloe vera which is wonderful for repairing skin and lavender for soothing. Hydration is immediately seen and felt after cleansing and then toning before moisturising.

3. Daily Defence Block SPF15 - 100ml
RRP £37.25 & Pure Beauty £33.25

Looking after your skin in the warmer months is quite obviously very important. However, how many of you use a daily SPF on your face? Luckily, my current foundation has an SPF in it but because my skin is so dehydrated from my travels; wearing foundation is not something in my routine at the moment.

Perfect for all skin types once again, this is a lightweight day cream with an SPF of 15 in. Moisturising your face daily is important to keep flaky and dehydrated skin at bay. However, using an SPF protects your skin from harmful UV rays and prevents further complications in later life.

4. Daily Microfoliant - 75g
RRP £41.75 & Pure Beauty £36.75

Another one for all skin types is this exfoliator. I chose it in particular due to its promise of giving a smoother and brighter looking complexion. My face often looks so tired in the mornings and usually quite grey looking due to a lack of sleep and staying up all night binge watching TV.

Products that state a guarantee of making my skin look brighter is usually a promise that is proven when used so I am really excited to try this one out.

5. Sheer Tint - 40ml
RRP £34.80 & Pure Beauty £32.50

As previously mentioned, I am giving foundation a break as I want to let my skin breathe and restore its natural oils. It’s dehydrated to the point where it even feels dry and tight and that is not the best of feelings.

I have tried tinted moisturisers in the past but they have never been something I have liked using. I am super pale, so finding shades in any kind of face base makeup product that matches my skin tone perfectly is an incredibly difficult task.

However, Dermalogica’s Sheer Tint comes in three different shades: Light, Medium and Dark. I had a look at the tints whilst at the airport just to make sure the light shade is not orange based. I swatched a bit of it onto my hand and it blended in beautifully.

The sheer tint is great for moisturising dehydrated skin whilst giving it a sheer coverage too. Luckily, it also has an SPF of 20.

  8. I really want to try the Charcoal mask! I've tried a few samples of Dermalogica products but never splashed out on a full size... I've not heard of Pure Beauty before, good to know they're a bit cheaper that way :)
