Learning To Knit a CosyWool Scarf

01/12/2015

I've had a bit of free time this month so I decided I wanted to learn something new. I was very close to picking up my ukelele again and self teach myself but I remember how frustrating I found it last year so it's safe to say that's on the back burner again.

Yes, I decided to learn how to knit. Knitting is something that my nan always used to do when she was around. It would be a miracle if you could sit down on the sofa without a knitting needle striking up from somewhere and digging you in places you really don't want to be dug!

I was sent some wool from CosyWool* to try out so it was indeed time to hunt down some online tutorials so I could teach myself to knit. After a lot of practising with some cheap wool I picked up in a pound shop, I soon got the hang of it. I then decided to go out and buy some better needles from Hobbycraft which are 4mm so it's a nice average size.

I was recently challenged to knit a scarf to try and win some knitting goodies so I can carry on with my new found love! The wool I chose from CosyWool is a little crazy but I love it! Here's the final result...

What do you think? I am so happy with it and can't wait to wear it! I really want to try and knit some matching mitten gloves!

  1. It looks like such a cosy scarf (great photos too by the way) - I love the colours in the wool. You did such a wonderful job with your first knitting project. xx

    1. I agree with you Sam! I am thinking of knitting some mittens to match now? Although, I am sure they will be a little more trickier!
