Travel Diary: Part 1 - GERMANY

Hello! Remember me? Only kidding but it feels like forever since I last hit publish and shared a post with you! For the last two weeks, me and Josh have been on a gigantic road trip. We travelled around four different countries in Europe; France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. We had a one night stay in France on the first day and on the very last day as a stop off for the drive home so I didn't get to see as much as France as I would have liked!

The next stop was Germany for 2 nights. Germany has always been a country I've wanted to visit as I am much more of a city person and it has so much to offer when it comes to seeing amazing things!

The entire holiday was booked through Eurocamp which offer fantastic holidays across 180 destinations in Europe. It's great because you have the facilities such as somewhere to stay aswell as swimming pools, sport activities and restaurants on site.

We stayed in a town called Herbolzheim at the Campingplatz Herbolzheim campsite.  Our view overlooked the Black Forest which was really beautiful to wake up to and drive around. The camp site itself was small but authentic and comfortable. It was in a good location surrounded by valleys and lakes which made for a wonderful drive into the next town for a day out.

We drove 45 minutes into Baden-Wuttemberg and stopped off at a tiny town called Triberg im Schwarzwald which is located in the middle of the Black Forest so you can imagine how beautiful it was having the forest surround you everywhere you looked!

It soon began to rain (a LOT!) so we went into a really amazing shop called 'The House of 1000 clocks' and believe me... they didn't lie when naming their shop. The most beautiful cuckoo clocks were displayed everywhere you looked and are all handmade (aswell as native to) in Triberg. All you could hear was a million ticks and cuckoos on the hour which was quite therapeutic. Josh's dad was very tempted to buy one as they can ship the clocks directly to your house no matter where but they wasn't cheap to buy!

It doesn't look like it but it was SO cold and wet this day!

We then walked up to the Triberg waterfall park which has the most amazing waterfalls everywhere. However, it was raining so much we didn't trek the couple of miles to go see it! Instead, we forgot about the rain and had some fun in the play park before taking shelter to take a break from the rain.

Stupid me didn't pack a jacket for the holiday so I was soooo cold and was very grateful for choosing a 3/4 length top on this day!

We found a REALLY cool wooden swing underneath some shelter which I had far too much fun on. Now I need to persuade to my dad to build one in our garden!

Germany was truly beautiful and is a place I definitely cannot wait to return to one day to explore some more! We packed up the car and hit the road for Switzerland next which I will share with you all soon!
