Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit

08/06/2015

I was a waxing virgin until a few weeks ago when I tried out Veet's EasyWax Roll-On Kit. Waxing is something I am familiar with as my mum has always had her bits and bobs waxed for as long as I can remember. However, I just stick to the annoying razor in the bath to sort out hair removal

My hair is naturally dark and very thick so once I shave my legs the hair starts re-growing and shown again in about 4-5 days. Very annoying to say the least but something I have become used to and have just dealt with for years.

When I was asked if I wanted to try out the EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit by Veet, I was a little intrigued. I know waxing usually involves going to a beauty parlour who smothers your legs in hot wax using something that looks like an ice-lolly stick. So I was already impressed that there was a beauty device out there that is electrical so allows you to wax your legs in peace at home.

Inside the box there is the electrical device which looks relatively say to use. You get a little 50ml box of wax which is inserted into the top of the device. You then insert the included electrical add on and leave it to heat up 20-30 minutes. You can check to see if the wax is hot enough in the device by rolling it over a piece of paper. I found 20 minutes was not enough and I needed the full 30 minutes for the wax to melt enough to come out.

** PREPARE FOR HAIRY LEGS**

I especially grew my leg hair to review this product and couldn't take photos that made my legs look nice. It was impossible but hair is natural right? Plus, it shows the review at its truest form possible!

The tip of the device has a roller which distributes the wax. I found it pretty easy to use. You just roll it over the area that has hair you want to remove and then pop it back in its stand. Included in the kit are 12 waxing strips (but these can be used a few times in the same area) which are more like a cloth type material so I imagine this are a lot softer to the skin rather than ordinary wax strips.

Next it was time to rip off the first strip! You have to rip it off from the bottom upwards (make sure to leave an inch at the bottom of the strip completely wax free to make this easier!).  Upon doing this, the pain was bearable (but obviously OUCH!) but I found it was quite patchy. I carried on and found it was easier to use the heating device in a quick rolling motion rather than in long strides as the wax comes out of the roller easier.

I managed to do both legs but didn't touch the back of my legs as I have heard this absolutely kills?! Included in the kit are some aftercare wipes which remove any wax still on your skin and also sooth the traumatic experience your skin has just gone through. I found these were quite oily but left my legs feeling really moisturised and smooth.

I think the Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit is easy to use and great if you are used to waxing and would like a kit at home which makes waxing convenient for you. For this reason alone, I would totally recommend it. It would save a lot of money too as it retails at around the £30 mark whilst replacement wax retails at around £10 and replacement strips are a few pounds.  However, I wouldn't personally buy this for myself as I find shaving in the shower/bath a lot easier and quicker; even though it does mean I have to do the same routine a lot more frequent as opposed to waxing.

  1. Great review. I hate shaving but prefer it to messing around with hot wax!
