The Creative Blogger Award

03/06/2015

Hello everyone! I found this little post idea on a post-it note on my mac and totally remembered I needed to get it crossed off the list!

The lovely Mark from the blog The Gent Mark tagged me in The Creative Blogger Award which is a tag kindly asking me to provide 5 random facts about myself so that you can get to know me a bit better. Now, unless you're a new reader (in which case, HELLO!), I share pretty much everything with you on here so hopefully the 5 facts I've chosen were 5 chunky facts that you didn't actually know about me.

Let's go!

1) I never and still don't want to be a photographer
Even though I studied photography for 5 years straight and am now freelancing when and where I can, I still don't want to "be a photographer". I much prefer shooting stuff as a hobby on the sideline of everything else I do. If I did it as a full time job, I'd be scared of getting fed up of it and hating it!

2) I don't like tea or coffee
Something that always shocks people when that question is proposed; "Would you like a cuppa tea or maybe a cup of coffee?". Apparently I used to love tea as a child but even the smell of it makes me feel sick! It's the other way around with coffee. I love the smell of it but don't like the taste.

3) I'm quite lonely (but happy)
I don't have a big social life and I can count the people I see and talk to all the time on just one hand. I wouldn't say I have any close friends but it's always been like that really. I have never been one who's super popular and out partying every weekend so therefore making new friends. I much prefer my own company and having a few close people instead of loads.

4) I regret University 100%
To be honest, I never wanted to go in the first place but everyone was made to apply for a course incase we regretted it afterwards. I ended up going to University having no other back up life plan and now a year after graduating, I can look back and say it was all a waste of time. If I could go back, I would have studied something along the lines of fashion promotion/fashion PR/marketing at a better University.

5) I have a weird music taste
I listen to a lot of different types of music however rock and music with screaming and roaring men in are my most listened to tunes. Obviously, my taste is on a wide scale as I adore James Bay and City & Colour which are on the opposite spectrums of things.

There we have it! A short and sweet post for you to get to know me a bit better. I am only going to nominate three people but if you want to do it too, pop a link in the comments below and I'll have a read :)!

  1. What an enjoyable read. I totally respect your honesty! I don't have a particularly big social circle either, and don't go out that much. I am now married with two kids, which surprises me enormously as I never saw myself getting married, never mind having kids. I used to say I was an 'alone' person, as opposed to a 'lonely' person. I liked my own company and being on my own (still do) and I've never wanted to mix big time. I do love both tea and coffee though, lol! Tx

  2. That's always the risk isn't it when you do what you love for a living that it could take the fun out of it.

  3. 3 &5 - I'm literally the same. I think I'm not as sociable as most of the people I know. But, at the same time, I'm okay with that. I like to have some time on my own and 2-4 good friends instead of a bunch of people I only party with. It just works for me. I prefer less people but closer relations.
5 - tell me about it! Marilyn Manson, Led Zeppelin and there goes Lady Gaga and Rihanna. I can't understand it but I just do what pleases me.
It's a pity you didn't enjoy the university but I understand it's not for everyone. People differ and if someone feels the uni life is not for them, they should listen to their heart because going or not going to the uni doesn't make anyone better or worse.

  4. I finally got round to reading this post! I haven't been reading your blog for long so it's been interesting for me to read this to find out more about you :) I'm sorry to hear university was a waste of time for you. It must be the worst feeling going to uni and getting into all of that debt for nothing. It's good you're doing freelancing here and there but hopefully you'll be able to get a job you truly enjoy and want to do for the rest of your life. I hope I don't feel this way once I've completed my degree though! I'll be sure to get my post up in the next week :)
