Exante Diet Weightloss Plan Review

04/05/2015

I have always been aware of diet and weight loss plans but have never really known how they work or if they'd be a little dangerous. I've tried weightloss shakes and found the concept quite easy i.e replacing lunch or breakfast for a shake with a piece of fruit. However, there's usually limited flavours available so I get bored easily.

When Exante got in touch to ask if I wanted to try out their diet plan, I was a little intrigued. Would I really be able to control what I eat for the next couple of weeks? I put myself to the test and haven't ordered a pizza for a whole month. Now, that's a record, I'm telling ya!

Each product is packed full of nutrients and vitamins and claims to aid weight loss if used with an exercise or sensible eating plan. This means you can't eat healthy all day and THEN consume a 1000 calorie burger for dinner!

I received some meal replacements which I was very interested in. Most of them you just add water and it magically turns into a meal. I found they were quite filling so it was interesting to take portion control on board. I know I'm super guilty of piling too much spaghetti bolognese on to my plate usually...

One of the meal replacements was Maple Syrup Pancakes - a healthier alternative to pancakes that I would usually make. I had these for breakfast one morning which were super easy to make. I just added water and then popped the mixture into a pan which is just enough for either one big pancake or two smaller ones. They tasted super yummy with an added sliced banana.

I also tried out their flavour shakes and received a whole bunch of interesting flavours. My favourite was a raspberry and lemon one which was really refreshing and filling. I replaced either a breakfast OR lunch with a shake and didn't find I was still tempted to snack on other things for a good few hours - which is very unlike me when I work from home!

Here's the raspberry and lemon shake which I had with a banana. Very filling and easy to make. You just add the powder and 200-250ml of COLD water (adding ice cubes is even better) to a protein shake cup and you're good to go. It does take a good couple of minutes to mix it all together though!

Next, I tried out some of their cup-a-soups. The tomato and basil one was my favourite! I did find I was still a little peckish afterwards so I had a slice of wholemeal bread (I very rarely eat bread any way) to dip in and I was left feeling satisfied.

I tried a few of their nutrition bars which are a great pre/post gym snack. I just popped them into my bag and found they contained enough energy to keep me going until it was time for lunch. I tried a Hot Cross Bun flavour which I did NOT like however their Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownie one was delicious!

So, we are all allowed to treat ourselves from time to time and Exante have that readily available for you. They have a whole bunch of desserts available but obviously I end up receiving the one I am totally ALL OVER! Gooey Chocolate Pudding. Which I am actually still yet to try but I'm sure it's as delightful as it sounds.

Another thing I haven't yet tried is their alcohol replacement. Wine is a killer in terms of calories. Apparently, still wine is worse than sparkling wine which is why this Elderflower & White Wine drink mix sounds rather interesting. You just add sparkling water to 2-3tsp of the powder and there you have a wine replacement. I'm not a big drinker and I'm not a fan of sparkling water but I am sure this is great for anyone who finds it difficult to not pour themselves glass of wine at dinner!

So, all in all the diet plan tastes okay and is certainly do-able. If I was in total control then I would have obviously selected products that I know I would definitely eat/drink. In terms of weight loss, I have lost a couple of pounds. Nothing too drastic but then again I haven't stayed devoted to a strict exercise plan which is advised.

Cost wise, the prices are all different depending on which plan you go for and how long you want the plan to be. You can check out all their diet plans here. It's a great concept and I would fully recommend Exante if you're looking at shedding a bit of weight fast as you can tailor your plan to your specific needs :)

    1. I fully recommend it then. Once I started, I was quite strict with what I allowed myself to eat :)

  2. Not sure about this. Looks like an awful lot of chemicals and additives. The wine replacement supplement looks interesting though!

    1. I wouldn't post about it if I thought it was a load of rubbish for people to buy.

  3. If anything is powdered I automatically stay away! It would be okay for initial weightloss if you're really overweight but it seems a bit gimmicky. Especially as they even have a plan for RAPID loss which puts you on 700 calories a day? Of course I respect your opinion but this is just mine haha. For just a bit more you could sign up for HelloFresh and have fresh ingredients sent to you and cook yourself :)

    1. I fully understand your point but I also find the plans with fresh meals are also a lot more expensive so I would rather just stick to eating healthy i.e chicken and veg for dinner and weightloss shakes for lunch replacements.

  5. I really need to shift some weight for summer hols and this company sounds lovely. I like how they accommodate to all meals, I find somethings only provide products for snacking on like protein bars and it just isn't good enough. Great review!

  6. I'm always a bit sceptical about food supplements. Having a farmers market a walk distance from my home means I never run out of veggies & fruits and I mostly live on them. I know how hard it is to find time to eat while balancing a business & blog at the same time, so this might look like a perfect solution to get some healthy meals instead of grabbing some burgers from a take out! :)
