Betty Crocker's Devil's Food Chocolate Cake

Betty Crocker Devil's Food Cake Mix*
£2.25 available at Tesco

Gas Mark 4, 30 mins

Ingredients:
1 Box of Devil's Food Mix by Betty Crocker*
Betty Crocker's Chocolate Frosting*
3 eggs ♥ 6 tablespoons of vegetable oil ♥ Half a pint of cold water

You will also need:
Mixing bowl  Table spoon ♥ 2 cake tins
OR
1 cake tin and cupcake cases

Let's begin...

Beat the eggs.

Then mix the water and the vegetable oil with the eggs.

Pop the Betty Crock mixture into another bowl and then add the egg mixture. Stir until you get a creamy consistency.

Spoon the mixture into a greased baking tin. I didn't have two cake tins so I decided to do just one cake and some extra cupcakes.

Bake at Gas Mark 4 for 30 minutes, then leave to cool.

Now it's the fun bit! Time to ice! Using the Chocolate Fudge Icing* by Betty Crocker, the consistency is really creamy if kept at room temperature. I used a butter knife to spoon out the icing and spread it out evenly. I did this for the cupcakes and the cake making sure I did the sides of the cake too!

If using two cake tins instead of the one and cupcakes then make sure you ice both and pop both on top of each other. I didn't use all of the fudge icing but it says you can keep it in the fridge for future cakes for up to 30 days.

I then added some white chocolate stars which I found in our baking cupboard. Totally optional of course but why not?!

Taaaa-daaaa! One chocolate covered cake with white chocolate stars. It was as yummy as it looks! Betty Crocker box kits make it incredibly easy to bake yummy treats without the need to buy a ton of ingredients. Definitely recommend them!
