cybercandy midnight milkway cupcakes

Cybercandy goodies!

Andrew being a geek!

Inside the wrapper...

I nibbled a bit, oooopsss ...

Melting the butter with chocolate and a little bit of water...

Chopping the milkyways... cut finely as they are difficult to 'mash'!

Folding the flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder and eggs together...

Then we added the butter, milkyway and water into the flour mixture...

Pouring into cupcake cases was the hardest bit! Ready for the oven though :-)

Starting the buttercream for the top of the cupcakes!

Gooey inside!

Baked!

Finished milky way cupcakes, mmmm!

Exciting news! I'm now a part of the 'Cybercandy blogger family', yay! Me and Andrew decided to choose something to bake a cake with. We bake a lot if you're not already aware from Sunday's post! We chose the midnight milky ways* which are pretty much normal milky ways, except dark chocolate. They also seem to have a lot more white nougat in! We settled on cupcakes instead of a massive cake, in fear it would turn out as big as our Oreo cake (see this post!). They came out pretty well and were really yummy!

Ingredients: 125g self-raising flour, 125g light brown sugar, 40g cocoa powder, 125 dark chocolate (optional, but extra chocolately - we didn't use any!), 125g un-salted butter, 2 eggs, 1 and a half milkways chopped up. For the icing: 4 and a half milky ways chopped up, 125g un-salted butter, 150g icing sugar, few drops of vanilla extract, 1-2 tablespoons of milk.
I had so much fun. Hopefully we can bake something again soon; keep your eyes peeled!

snap crackle and pop, cheers for stopping by!
