These are the only photos I have ever taken using my Lomography Diana CMYK camera. It takes 120 film (a bigger negative compared to a standard 35mm frame), so it's a little trickier to use and a bit of a pain... so much so, that I've never really been that bothered about using it! These aren't exactly correctly exposed, but film photography is just a game of trial and error. I do like them though. They have such a vintage, old feel about them and I like the fact each frame joins onto the next. It's just a shame my ex's face is in one of them though!

Lomography cameras are awesome! I'd definitely reccommend starting out on a 35mm film camera, and check on the microsites (at the bottom of the product listing on the shop) to see how complicated they are to use, and how much manual work they require. My first was a Fisheye 2 (would definitely recommend this as it's so simple to use, and having the flash is a great bonus).

These are so gorgeous! I absolutely love the 120 format here. Did you get them developed at the lomography store? Boots tend to completely mess any slightly unusual films up big time (and don't I know it). Again, really beautiful - and don't worry about the ex's face, majority isn't in it ;)
ReplyDeleteI study photography so I've been using 35mm camera for three years, aha. It's my favourite format. So simple and easy :) I really want the fish eye one! It always catches my eyes in Urban Outfitters. Definitely on my wishlist. I develop all my film myself as we have the machines and darkroom equipment at college. Then I just scan the negatives in myself. Got a lot of posts lined up. Aha and yeah thank god it's only half his stupid face haha! Thank you for your comments!

Aw, the photos aren't loading for me :( I will try again later! I have the Diana Dreamer and have a 35mm back for it - might be worth considering it as it's a bit easier to get developed? It's pretty pricey, like all lomo products, but worth it :) xx
ReplyDeleteI've always looked into getting a Lomography camera but it does put me off, hearing so many people say that they are tricky to use! I like the picture that you've taken they look a bit retro! xo
